Welcome to Indy Parent Help.  I'm called Yiayia (pronounced YaYa)which means grandmother in Greek.  Unlike other parent help 'how-to's', the intent of this site is to tap into your inate emotional intelligence. 

As parents we would be fooling ourselves if, from time to time, we didn't experience feelings of frustration and anxiety when dealing with our children. AskYiaYia's Parenting Classes incorporate "ACPI Heartwise Parenting", "Connection Parenting", and "Parent Talk" systems to connect with our children effectively and experientially through empowerment, while procuring long lasting relationships between parent and  child.

My general philosophy is that all kids' feelings must surface before we can begin to understand their unique needs. Research has shown that all behaviors are need driven and all behaviors are learned.  When we understand childrens' needs, we discover the path to their feelings and can modify their behavior to become both acceptable and achievable.
